Well perhaps not new but an idea I came up with to uprate the gearbox mounts on the 944 Audi type box.
I have a 944S2 gearbox but I have a 1978 NA shell so the single overhead mount isnt an option and I had to use the pair of rubber/metal hangers.
However the problem is that under fast starts the mounts bounce around.
To uprate them I noted that the rubber portions have voids in the corners. What I did was get some thin wall tube and pressed short lengths into a more oval shape to fit the voids snugly. Once I had pressed them into place I added some tie-wraps in case they came free under use.
I used the car at a sprint event at Castle Coomb England and the box was held steady and the tubes stayed put just fine.
Just thought I'd pas it on.
cheers

Spec 944 guys also inject those passages with hardening silicone for the same reason. _________________ Toofah King Bad
