Even wish your toofah had a deeper, meaner exhaust note?
Just give it 32 years and one week and let it rust off:
[somewhere on I-55 between Rt 30 and the I-355 interchange, my car got meaner]

A long time ago I owned a 1978 Mustang II Ghia.
Crappy little 2.3L 4 cylinder mustang.
One day... I heard a loud BANG from the back of my car and the muffler had blown a hole in it.
After that, people asked if it was a V8. Sounded like a V8. Nice and throaty. Like a real mustang.
At some point I had to put it in drive and step on the gas, after that point it was pure disappointment. But man it was such an awesome car at idle. _________________ - 1977 Porsche 924 2.0 N/A (Trackday Project)

I'd never wash my hood again...
When I blew the muffler off my 83 944 the car sounded like an F-1 car, especially at high revs. I missed the racket when I got it fixed. _________________ '88 944 Auto - may or may not resurrect |

When the final muffler fell off of the 928, it sounded so great, I just left it off. I got MORE comments about how great and different that car sounded, and all because the muffler rusted off.
But it did have a snarl to it! Sorry it's gone _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

When I bought my 924, the PO had attempted to put a straight pipe through the last muffler. It wasn't that great an idea, especially after driving it 1400kms home. I had to buy a CD halfway to ease the drone of the broken muffler.
I had a muffler place look at it and all the mufflers were in a sorry state. I was lucky that he's worked on Porsches before; he replaced everything from the manifold back, except for the tip which he said was a genuine Porsche part and very difficult to replace. It sounds a helluva lot better now.
