This is from the 2nd day when they put cones out for some fun, and ran the track in reverse.

My wife and I decided to have some fun this fall in NM before we dig into fixing up our house. So, we first found a desert-level RV storage facility for the RV of course, and when the snow flies on the mountain we're on, for Spike. With both vehicles off the mountain, we can go anywhere this winter.

In the mean time, this weekend we went to the Arroyo Seco (which means, middle of no-where) Racetrack in Deming, NM. Had a bunch of fun, 2 hours of track time over saturday and sunday. And, got to meet Vic Elford and hear the stories of his 917 days, pretty cool. We also got to hear about his website, so here it is: www.vicelford.com, he likes to sell stuff!

Photos here and have to weed thru 2 hours of tire-screetching video before I post that.

Our 'campsite' for the weekend.

Pics of a few of the cars.

Lots of fun, track not more than 140 miles from us, more fun in the future. Spike did great, used the skinny tires Falken 512 somethings I got from flosho. The wider D90 tires are pretty worn, so left them home. The Falkens are almost ruined, now I have very good reason to buy new ones!

Is the track name a secret? Oh, and I hate you, too.

yeah, his car is very fast, and he has a lifetime membership at the track, he knows it well. The three GT3 cars were fun to watch too. On sunday a 968 appeared, very fast, and an LS1 944 with big meats. The latter kept up and could pass, most of the 911s except the GT3s. The driver is about 65 years old!

Spike passed TWO SCs!

If I picked favorites it be the 911,931, black 914 wide body,
gold 914,930 wide body, then the boxsters, in picking i gave
consideration to costs.. i dont see me being able to afford a
boxster or wide body 930 in the near future ... . Id say
you found a new place youll want to revisit.

We took a trip to the Gila National Monument today, 43 miles of twisties. Half-way thru the 2 hour trip, yes, two hours for 43 miles, we decided we didn't have enough water/supplies to walk to the cliff dwellings. So, took a couple pics, and came home.

Here's my wife Pam walking along the trail with our rottweiler, Pearl.

Here's our Border Terrior mix doing her thing

Oh yeah, Pearl wasn't too happy trying to find room back there. I did remove the top half of the rear seat. She's 100lb, so, one reason we didn't complete the trip!
