|
|
I just got this car about 2 weeks ago, and it was such a nice day today I decided to start taking it apart.
on the list for today is a new thermostat which I have, and I looked at my passenger (right) side sway bar link, and it's broken.
I searched around on the internet and I can't seem to find one, is there a good source that I'm missing?
here it is before jacking the car up:
here it is after:
The other side is fine, I just don't know where to get the part from. |

| I assume they are available from the dealer, but its a 15 minute job to remove that link, pull off the rubber parts and weld. |

| They are welded to begin with, maybe your welding will last as long. |

Yes the end links can easily be welded. Unbolt the bottom piece from the control arm, and slide the other half off the stabilizer. Obviously, remove the rubber bushing and weld the two pieces together. No problem, a 5 minute welding job. _________________ I have a 78 n\a currently under restoration. |

Yeah, welding would be fine, unless the metal is too far corroded (have seen some like this). They can also be gotten from the dealer, or aftermarket places like Paragon. _________________ Vaughan Scott

I welded it up and put everything back together, and it works great! feels a little better and no more clunking sound!
I am amazed how clean this car is, the threads on the bottom of the link just turned and came off, no rust, no goo, no drama. I love this car!
Thanks for the help! |

| i see, my friend's 924 has the same problem with his part i guess we would rule out of getting a sway bar link replacement and just weld the thing. thanks! |
