I've got a problem that there is a fuel smell hanging around inside the filler port. It happens when I fill the tank, which I stupidly forgot the day I took it for an emissions test, so it failed the THC part. Badly. So it needs fixing.

What have other people done to fix this? What is typically amiss? I've gotten into the back of the filler port. Do I need to pull the expansion tank up in the C-pillar? (Can I even remove it?) Replace all the hoses? I know two of them go to vents on the fuel tank; is it possible to get to them without dropping the transaxle? And the tank has >40L of fuel in it, too.

Wade.

Pull the cover off the hoses around the filler.
replace as many hoses as possible.
I replaced all mine without dropping the gear box

I didn't find that one when searching!

Did you replace the valves, too? My hoses look okay (I think) just original. But I guess I could replace them...

I just replaced the hoses.
I still get some smell but think its from the sender unit seal.
