I'm looking at this for my 1 1/2 car garage for the 924. I just want some opinion from you guys to see if this might work with the 924 lift points. I've only used jack stands so far. Anyone have experience with larger lifts and these cars?

Adam

Those look a bit rickety to me. I don't know where you are located, but around here you can pick up a decent pro post lift for $1500 or so.

Problem is I don't have the ceiling height for a pro lift. Would love one but just not in the cards for this garage.

There is some good info also over on the garagejournal.

Here's a classic from a few years ago.

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=55006

He has a race oriented 911 and if I remember correctly he gets away with a heavy duty lift table.

Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

Oh yeah, been a loyal reader of Garage Journal for MANY years. That's where I first heard about this lift.

In my garage I have to access the car from the side which this lift totally blocks. My garage is kinda short so getting under from the front or rear is a PITA. Nice portable idea though.

2 sets of these. (which I use now)
http://www.harborfreight.com/automotive-motorcycle/jack-stands/6-ton-heavy-duty-jack-stands-69596-8820.html

and one of these (when i have the dough)
http://www.harborfreight.com/automotive-motorcycle/floor-jacks/2-ton-low-profile-heavy-duty-floor-jack-rapid-pump-68050-8048.html

will get the car almost an honest 2 feet in the air.
