black wire on top of alt runs through the harness into the abyss, has a ring connector and was taped to the alt harness(bunch of wires in heat shielded stuff) this wire goes into the harness at the split and the ring end is near alt. (ring end has electrical tape around it) the firewall wires (2) look important but nothing near them to plug into...

Wouldn't worry about either. Looks like someone bypassed the factory alt ground in favor of a new piece. . .good. The other connections near the firewall are either diagnostic plugs, or for an accessory you don't have, like fogs, or headlight washers.

The ones near the hood are for a factory alarm.

Factory alarm wires, when available, should color wt/•• and ••:
In this case it's not those wires at the firewall.

These two firewall wires pictured are used for accessories that
could be added to the stock harness, like Mr. Monsta pointed out.

The wt (white) wire wears a plastic cover on the other end, inside the car
where it dangles around in the harnes behind the fusebox. It would
fit into G-group to support an accessories that feeds through a G-pin.
(See Haynes additional flow diagrams. …Or other add-ons I'm not aware of.)

On early cars the thick bk/re wire is red only IIRC.
It hooks up to the H-group cluster, so it does have current from the battery(!).

Regards, Harm.

Hi Harm, how are you doing?

I have not driven my car for a month now, still have to the bleed the coolant, and now with all the snow and the salt....

I thought these were the wire for a hood sensor as part of the alarm

Prima Bello! Busy though, even these days.
Tugged away the car back inside a few weeks ago and took off the winter tyres to help a friend out…
He donated me 500,- to ease the pain of not driving the toofah during winter
Wanna save my toofah from the salt assault that is taking place ATM!

Thanks for the picture:
It shows (not clearly) the stock two wires jamis1970 asked about still un- attached,
just underneath the blue dot, behind the main harness, and further down…
The factory alarm means more wires to take care of

Is your car alarm holding up nicely?
I read the diagram for this and it doesn't seem difficult to add to the car.
I'm just missing three components to get it working…
I'll stick to the aftermarket Car Alarm for now.

Een aangenaam kerst weekend gewenst Duncan!
Cheers, Harm.

Harm, you are completely right...
It's not my car in the pic, so cannot comment on this alarm...

Jij ook fijne feestdagen toegewenst!
Groeten,
Duncan
