There's a slight but significant semantic difference between saying "THE ultimate blah-blah-blah" and "MY ultimate (or super-duper or pick-your-superlative) such-and-such"...

And while we're on the subject, not every thread you start has to have "official" in the title. Hint, hint, ideola...

Except that no one will ever have any trouble finding the actual group buy threads for future reference on pricing, specifications, and contact info I actually do that to distinguish a group buy that is on vs. just a feeler post. I could use "bonafide" if you like that better

I'm just teasing, all in good fun. But I do promise that the next thread I start with a question, say something like a grounding problem, will be titled "Official grounding problem question thread".

Ok The goal is to make a molded double-din section above the dash for a removeable doubledin radio/mp3/GPS/blutooth/reverse camera etc

FWIW the dash had a large number of large cracks on top which i started to fill.. The curved 2din unit cover i found at a wreckers...i just had to make it fit somehow

Cutout section

Trial fit 1 of 1000000

Make section into santaclaus with expandafoam

Start cutting with stanley knife

keep cutting and trial fitting

light fibreglass cover then skim coat of bodyfiller to smoothen out

Ran out of memory card space here but next step is finish sanding...filling in cracks

And in a bout a week or so ill start on vinyl covering....making various vinyl sections then sewing them together to cover the whole dash...Stitches will be external aswell...for show

Doesnt look like much now but stay tuned

Looks like a good plan, I'm impressed so far, and looking forward to the final pix.
