I need to get to the back of my radio and also need to remove my heater blower switch. How does the console come apart ?

Pictures would help, but here's a quick run-down.

There are two screws that hold in the set of 3 small gauges. Remove these.

Under the panel that holds the 3 small gauges, there's two screws that hold the top of the console to the dash. Remove these.

Remove your ashtray. There's a couple bolts under there.

There's also a couple screws, one on each side, at the front-lower corners of the console where your legs go.

This will remove the console, however the heater controls will still be attached.

To remove the heater controls, pull the knobs off the heater controls, then pull the plastic cover that has the grooves in it for the controls. I don't know how it's supposed to be held on -- mine was just taped in place. Under this cover you'll find a couple screws that hold the heater controls to the console.

Then, you've just got the shifter boot to deal with, and it should be clear. It's up to you to figure out how to remove the radio, but if there's slack in the wires, this should let you have access to the back which may very well help.
