So i bought the car.. got it running.. took care of all the issues.. except for one.. the giant, round, supersized coffecan muffler strapped the the rear.. the rest of the system looks fine.. and i dont want to go through all of the trouble of replacing the whole thing.. but the muffler has got to go.. so what are my options? _________________ Black '77 924 N/A |

I have a dynomax turbo style muffler which I really like. It's got a nice sound which is sporty but not too loud. If you are just having the muffler changed though, you have alot of options.

A 944 exhaust system can be dropped in place for cheap.
Otherwise, I would suggest a SuperTurbo muffler for a decent solution to get you by until you decide the final direction you want.
If you have a good piece of pipe to attach too, you can probably get away with removing the old muffler and clamping the new one in place. To have it done should be pretty cheap. Ask some of the local car guys in your area who they would have do their exhaust and you'll probably have someone that does a good job for a reasonable price. _________________ Stefan

Not off-hand, but they make things called rulers and one can use these rulers to measure things.
It would probably be faster to lay a piece of cardboard down and crawl under the tail of the car to see what you have to work with before ordering parts, etc. _________________ Stefan
