|
|
I was wondering what the market for phone dials are, I see alot of buy it nows on ebay but that doesnt really give any indication to me of how in demand they are.
I found a set I could get pretty cheap and I think I could flip them by just refinishing them, but I dont want them just sitting around waiting months for a buyer, does anyone have any idea how in demand they are? |

Depends on what type you have. The most valuable phone dials are the kind found the 951 for two reasons. One, they are 16 inch and come in staggard sets with 8" rear rims, and you can run lower profile wider tires. Two, they were designed to clear four pot brembo brakes.
Next in value would be the mid 1980s 23mm offset 15 inch phone dial wheels, which seem to bring more than the 52mm offset, the hardest of the phone dials to move.
Say you find a set of 15x6 52mm offset and try to sell them you might only get 100 bucks where a nice set of 16x8 and 16x7s in 23mm offset can bring 400. _________________ 87 924s

Yea these are the 23mm offset (just last month I snagged a set of 56mm for my car :D ), the problem is I dont have space for them to sit for 6 months. A month or two is alright but I would want to move them sooner than later.
Any idea where online would be good to market them? Mainly are there any 944 forums that you know of. Also are any colors more desirable than others? The ad says he "started to paint one black," personally I like the black phonies (as my fuchs and phonies are black), but I dont know what the most popular opinion is. I was going to refinish them in black laquer if I think this could be profitable. Thanks for the advice so far. |

I don't think there's much of a market for it, but you never know. The place to ask would be Rennlist and Pelican. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

It is probably more labor intensive than it is worth if you are just going to sell them, but polished totally or polished with painted centers will have them sold quickly if you do a good job.
