Guys I need advice, Does anyone know if I can splice into the old loom (80/81 series1 with Hall effect) to put my series2 82 engine bay and ECU in without going all the way back to the loom?
the 82 has Throttle Pos sensor Air, Air Temp sensor , Crank positon sensor, etc extra
The Haynes Manual does not seen to have the 82 series2 Feul and Ignition circuits in there......
I am leaning towards doing a loom swap...ARRRRRRGH! _________________ Joe

Following a 30 second feasability study (looked under the dash at the Loom and fuse box etc ) Ive decided to stick with like for like, Im going sticking with the Hall effect wiring in the 80model and leaving the original DTIC stuff for the 82 which will have an intercooler GT style.....long term project. Ill get the GT lookalike back on the road asap with the original Fuel and ignition setup....... done ! At least Ill be able drive it before I get too old to drive.

I put an s2 engine in my s1 car. was much work but turned out great. Had the s2 loom taken out of the donor car though. Its now neatly incorporated in paralell with the orignial loom. Didnt need to cut the original s1 loom, just do some "t" clamps on some wires. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Thanks Smoothie Itll be easier and more original if I stick with what the Good Dr P intended. Shame 'cause I have a GT stlye intercooler which fits the series 2 manifold throttle body. but just for concenience Ill keep them standard for now.
