Hey guys , I am putting the Starter mtr in (1980 series 1 Hall effect) and the solenoid kicks in and it cranks well when jumped from battery+ve to connection 50 on the solenoid...ok

However when I went to use the ignition switch (it also has a stupid immobiliser/alarm) no crank / no solenoid clunk just lights dimming on dash. When I checked Haynes all the wiring diags say Red/Black4mm goes to lug50(on solenoid) however the original wiring has 2 diffenert sized fittings and they are ass about. (i.e Red /black couldnt have gone to connection 50??? Is haynes right?

Perhaps a PO has pulled the solenoid apart and put the lugs (different sizes) ass about? is that possible.
