Hi, My mate has a spare G31 and wants to know if it's out of a Euro or a US car.

The serial number is 31/01/05811/(can't read the next bit)
Other numbers on the casings are 477 301 102 AA MB, and 931.301.301.OR

Does that tell us enough to work it out?

3101 is a G31 without LSD. MB stands for Euro 79-84

3101 means ROW version. The S/N needs a 12 at the end to have LSD. That spec sheet is somewhat misleading. 3102 is the US version. The other numbers are casting numbers.

You need the whole s/n to determine if it has LSD or just turn the output flange. if the other side turns the same way even if you try to hold it it has LSD. If both flanges can be turned opposite directions at the same time it does not have LSD.
