Looks like the car was advertised before:
http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/classic-car-page.php/carno/61334
Here is some info on the cars in general, to determine if it's the real McCoy:
Identifying a genuine 924 Carrera GT is easy if you know what to look for. If all of the following items are present and correct, you are almost certainly looking at a genuine car. In rough order of priority taking into account importance and ease of location:
Chassis number WPOZZZ93ZBN700 then 051 to 450 (GTS WPOZZZ93ZBS700001 to 59) view
GTs will be black, red, or silver, only red GTSs were made
Polyurethane bonnet scoop, front spoiler, front wings and rear spats
Engine number should start 3150
Langerer & Reich intercooler on top of the engine view
Yellow 924 Carrera GT sticker on the right side of the engine bay view
Black and red pinstripe velour trim, "Turbo" script on kickplate view
Fuchs alloys view
Plastic ducts under the front of the car feeding air to the brakes view
Large crackle effect rear spoiler, red PORSCHE script in the middle
1981 registration, or record of an original "W" reg for UK cars
Transaxle number should start 3103
84 litre fuel tank
Thinner than standard rear hatch glass
Digital Ignition Timing Computer part number is 937 602 171 00. It is located behind the stereo
Dogleg first gear location (down and to the left. also found on 931)
Four spoke steering wheel with Porsche script in middle - UK cars only
Full-length panel sunroof (note: lift out only, no tilt/slide function) - UK cars only
Red or black Carrera sticker on front right wing view
Red or black Carrera GT sticker on rear view
The VIN seems standard Turbo, my 'new' '80 Euro I bought in Arizona is similar: 93A0141519. I also have the TMIC installed in my 931, add a body kit, and bingo, similar car, well, in my mind maybe! Good luck, beautiful car though. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

3 prototypes were made all in white. However, that car looks like a chiffon white, which is a different shade of white than the prototypes. _________________ 1981 931 GT (CGT Intercooled)

I spoke to someone who looked at this car and thought it was a show car rather than a prototype. He rejected it at a lower price than the £20k it's advertised for now. Not conclusive, but interesting. _________________ 924gt.com |

I´ve read a german article in Auto&MotorSport. That car was one of the three prototypes. 928 wheels and red leather interior with very special bucket seats - no backseat by the way. The colour was white pearl metallic I can post the pictures if you are interested. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

The scanner at work wouldn´t allow me to scan in colour for some strange reason
I´ve got another photo of the prototype with a funny looking periscope air intake raised one inch.
And one with Fuchs.

| It is possible that it was some sort of factory test mule or prototype despite the VIN number. Also, it could possibly be a turbo that was sent back to the factory for upgrades to CGT specs. Only way to know is with some sort of factory documentation which is getting a little more difficult to get these days. I tried to get some info from the factory on my weirdo 931 CGT project and was advised that due to legal reasons they could not provide me with much more than a Certificate of Authenticity...which doesn't help since apparently that is only available for US spec cars and mine is Euro. My car is very strange...lots of factory CGT parts on it (flares etc), doors with no sound deadening material (and no evidence it was ever there) I'd like to find out more but nothing but dead ends. |

I think that you are close to the truth, maybe Porsche tried to get rid of the stock of GT parts? My GT replica was (re?)built in Germany back in the early 80´ with orginal GT parts as the hood, rear spoiler, rear steel wings/fenders. The plastic bodywork is aftermarket According to Porsche was the factoryspec sport seats and limited slip just as the GT. _________________ Carl Fredrik Torkildsen

Dan,
project is moving along slowly...The brake system is all back together and functioning, I cut out the windshield and cleaned up the rust bubbles around the frame...thankfully it was all surface rust and no holes. also, cleaned up the battery box area that had a lot of surface rust...finished it off with silver Masters series rust sealer...(better than POR15) Engine work to do: all vacuum lines, water pump and timing belt, fuel injector rebuild. I need two solid undisturbed weekends to get it ready to fire up...problem is time.... so as I am not in a rush (but am very eager to get it running) I do a little at a time.
regards,
Paul |

also in the CAR MAGAZINE November 1979 was a report of the Frankfurt Motor show - maybe somebody can help me and send me a scan of this report. I tried to get this magazine but i was not successful.
Now in Stuttgart 7th of May there is a big event (125 Years of Cars) and i´m invited to present my 924 GT Prototype at the Castle of Stuttgart. |
