My right wheel is pointed about 2-3 degrees to the right when the left wheel is in the center. Is this adjustable or do I need a new steering rack.

It's adjustable using the tie rods.

I looked at that, is there enough play in the tie rods? Well I guess I could try!

How are you wanting to adjust it?

Toe out (what you're describing) enhances turn-in, at the expense of straight-line stability. It's a tuning option, with, I'm sure, a factory specified suggested setting.

There is a noticable differance the the angle the wheels point if there was suposed to be toe in wouldn't both wheels be the same?

Normally, the front wheels are not supposed to be parallel when driving straight ahead. On most cars, both wheels are steering somewhat inwards; the left wheel is steering slightly to the right, and the right wheel is steering slightly to the left.

This is called toe-in, and it adds stability to the car.

The acraman setting is how parallel the wheels stay to one another while steering. When steering around a turn, the inside wheel follows a smaller radius than the outside wheel, so the inside wheel needs to steer sharper than the outside wheel.

Acraman is not easily adjustable, and it's pretty far from an ideal setting on the 924. To adjust this would require moving the steering rack in the car, and/or adjust the steering arms on the spindles. Both of these would require fabrication.

Toe is adjustable, and as I said, it's normal for there to be a little bit of toe-in on cars. Some cars (race cars in particular) will run with a little bit of toe-out, as the instability this causes can get the car to turn in more aggressively than the conventional, more stable toe-in.

So, what do you want? A little bit of toe in will give optimal tire wear, while a little bit of toe out (or parallel) may give you the aggressive handling characteristics you're interested in, or maybe you want a more neutural handling car which would have a little toe in.

This is not what's going on, the right wheel is pointing right.

Clearly, it's been set up for NASCAR. Go fast, turn left.

Did your lower strut mounting bolts slip?

Changes in camber will effect toe and vise-verse.

Either way, time to pop the wheel off and give that corner a good shaking to see if anything is loose.

Please make sure the car is well supported before you try this....

Hey mad , I did a halfa$$ alignment by laying down a 10' (straight) 1x4 aligned with the back tires, and adjusting the tie rods.

The nut will break loose from the end and then you can turn the rod to adjust the toe. Worked fairly well, much less shake in the wheel, drives straight.

(Disclaimer: I do not recommend doing this procedure, just reporting what was done by a cheap SOB. Any other adjustments should be made at a qualified alignment facility.)

P.S. itom blew my mind with the great technical info on alignments. Really great info, I learn something new here everyday.(Honestly)
