| I have had my 924s for some time now and i know it is long overdue for FOES, what exactly does that entail. I have read a lot of posts about the garage needing special tools to do. What should i expect them to do, and what tools should i make sure they have. |

I have yet to do mine, but we have a local club (Kansas City Wrenching Society) and it seems that a first timer will take all day (unless you are like me and tend to measure 3x before cutting). We have occasional Wrenching Parties, which entail shared knowledge/tools, a group BBQ, various liquid refeshments and lots of fun! We sometimes cap the day with a group 50-100 mile jaunt.
fiat22turbo's link is an excellent source for DIY.
If you can link up with a group like we have here, or just a few friends with 924S/944 experience, they can help you to get it done with far less anxiety.
Buying your own parts will runn about $500, including a good NEW water pump. You will save $500-1,000 labor. _________________ Mark

Might take more than a day if BS carriers need to be sent out for new bearings. _________________ Toofah King Bad

True.
I, however, am a optimist. I assume the work isn't actually needed but is instead therapy for the owner. _________________ Mark

A flywheel lock makes the chore a lot easier to begin.
You will probably make the mistake of the balance shaft gears in wrong positions. Recheck your "Os & Us".
