Im new 924 owner! Im soooo excited about my new car/project. I bought a 77.5 924 that needs some work and was wondering where a good place is for parts. This is what I'm looking for- exhaust manifold, fuel distributor, motor mounts, writing diagrams, and front spoiler. Thanks for helping!

Well, for a start you can check out Ideola's garage, and Grenadiers seems to have some bits available...both are members here. Also check the classifieds here...do a search...seems to me a member here was selling off a load of stuff recently but right now I can't remember who....silly me!

For new you can try Pelican Parts, AutohausAz, and a number of other places.

I'm sure others will chime in...Rasta (another member) seems to have a pulse on things and may be of great help.

Congrats on your purchase!

Amusing, and a more than cynical comment...unfortunately.

Don't worry 77CO924, you'll find that occuring at times on this forum, let it roll off your back like rain rolls off the back of a duck's feathers.

You'll find that most folks here are going to be happy to help you out as they share a common passion for these cars and enjoy the fact that others do as well.

I'm sure that when you have the time you'll be proud to post pictures of your pride and joy and prove that "it happened".

If you can drive it for sixty miles, then she's mint condition!

Like TJC said, ideola has some manifolds on his webpage for good prices. In addition, since seeing the car is driveable, I would recommend just getting the fuel distributor rebuilt. Getting a new one is expensive, getting a used one will need just as much or more work done to it. For the wiring diagrams, buy one of the Haynes manuals. Front spoiler...see what shows up on the items for sale area.

Looks like you got a good deal on it! Congrats! For parts I use rock auto alot if it's stuff like tune up bits. Ideola's garage is great for specialty items like headers or whatever.

Good luck with the project!

Definitely get a Haynes manual. Whilst they aren't complete, and do have a few tiny mistakes, the still cover a lot of ground. And if you take it to a mechanic, he may want to look at it.

There are dozens of places that sell Porsche parts. Some have a wide range, others have a selected range, still others have a narrow slice of otherwise hard-to-find items. A short list of ones I've bought from: Driving Source NorthWest, Automotion, Ideola's Garage, Paragon Parts, Pelican Parts.

You will also be surprised how many more general car workers know 924s. A specialist in older injection systems will probably know the K-Jetronic system (it was used in a lot of models). A performance exhaust fitter will probably know Porchses. And so on. Ask some friends for recommendations.

Wade.
