Any pointers what to do with Flat Disc wheels...
I currently have a set of 928S4 8x16" rims on my 931. The rears are just fine but at front they are too wide. So I bought back a previous set of 931 original 6x16" rims with the intention of putting the 6" rims in the front. Again, the 6" look rather silly in the rear after the 8"s.
Both the 6"'s and 8"'s are in rather decent shape, just that they are different colour. The 8"'s are bright and shiny silver whereas the 6"'s are dull.
So, I would need to get the 6" and 8" rims match. Should I go for having them painted? I really don't have the time to spend hours and hours scrubbing them to get a polished finish... Any pov's?
Here's a shot of the current colours:

Wow!
Looks great! I wish I had the time
... The look on my wife's face would be worth seeing when she would discover a couple of wheels in our dishwasher
The bling shiny wheels is actually what I would want. I just wander if the colour difference would even out or not... _________________ 931 S2, 1981 |

1) Get the 6" pair painted to match the 8" wheels (which look great, BTW).
2) Ship your wheels to 'ideola' for a refinish! _________________ 1984 Porsche 944

There is another option you might look into. In my area, there is a powder coater who will strip, media blast, and powder coat wheels for ~$80 each. They have all kinds of finishes available. I have used them for the satin black club sports that are going on my Club Sport project. Don't know if you have any such service locally, but it may be worth looking into. I was VERY pleased with the results, and have used this particular supplier for all of my ceramic coating and powder coating for the past 2-3 years. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Whats the et on the 8s? I have 8+6 as street Wheels, from a 964 if i remember correctly. I tested the 8s on the front and it fitted nicely, so therefore I'm interested to find a matching pair of 8s _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

The 8"s are ET 52,3 from a 928 S4.
With 225/50/16 they are Ok in normal driving but they scrub the side wall slightly in very tight turns... _________________ 931 S2, 1981 |
