Need Help Please

Recently purchased my first project car, 1982 924 non turbo.
Can't get it to fire up, I think the wires are mixed up or the distributor is not in sync with the cam shaft.
Does any have a diagram or a picture showing rotor position with engine at 0 (TDC) and cam shaft timing indicator lined up?
Also need to know what spark plug wire goes where from the distributor cap to the spark plugs.
Thanks

Distributor cap should be labeled (1, 2, 3, 4).

Firing order is 1-3-4-2

Rotate motor to TDC indicator on flywheel/front pulley.

Verify that the camshaft gear lines up with the arrow on the valve cover.

Verify that the rotor lines up with the plug wire #1

If any of above doesn't line up, correct them and try starting again.

Obviously, checking for spark isn't too bad, pull one plug at a time and put it in the plug wire end and lay the plug on the valve cover. Have someone turn the key and verify that there is spark. (Beware as this will knock you on your ass if you get mixed up with it)

Wiring connections under the hood and under the dash are known for getting dirty and causing weird issues. Pull the connectors, one at a time, clean it and put it back in place. Pay attention to anything that looks like it is ground related (brown wires) or is hacked up or damaged.

I think there are some info on the main site, 924.org and in the Hayne's manual for the car.

Good luck!

Thanks for your advice, I've got the wiring order right not. Did as you suggested and chacked for spark. Not getting spark. Checked ignition coil it has 0.9 ohms resistance across 1 and 15 terminals. I feel like I'm getting close, how do you check to make sure the distributor is doing it's job?
