The door handles on my "80 931 are faded to grey. Is there a good method to bring back the black color?
I tried Mother's Back-to-Black; didn't do a thing for it.

What thats a no-brainer. Order new seals for nrxt to nothing,
pull the handles and refinish them & reinstall. if you sanded them
with some fine grit after poppping the plastic insert them squirte some paint on they should look as good as new.

Well, put that way, it does sound like a no brainer.
I wondered if there wasn't some miracle stuff that would "wipe-on, wipe-off".

A new paint job is reaching the top of the list. I'll hold until then to pull the door handles.

Thanks for the input.

I think the door handles are made of pot metal (or something not much better). I've not had very good luck with paint, as it chips very quickly, even after using etching primer first. I've been wanting to try powder coat, seems like it would be more durable.

Wekll ya know what, thats right dan-man though why go thru
using all them products such as self etching primer...
Quicke solution any place will tell you is. The DIY method
get creative pop out the plastic inserts or leave them if there
discolored & nasty. Follow this with some good masking tape
a lil newspaper & spray some rustoleum on them ... try using there
stove/barbique paint if you looking for a pretty tough non-fading
non-gloss black.
