I got some semi slick tyre withs the rims i purchased but am unsure if they are ok or not
The tread indicator is getting close and so theres not much time left on them at any rate, the potential issue is there are some cracks in the rubber on the main treads, some are large i.e 20cm long and 2 to3mm wide. They have been used on a 911 enthusiests track car. So i'm not sure if this is the result of running over some shrapnel on the track or tearing? Do more solid slick tyres do this?
Cheers stu

My Dunlop semi slicks have all sorts of cuts and nicks in them. it doesn't take much with these things (stones will do it). Can you post a photo?

Cracks in a rubber tire are not always a problem, it depends on what kind of crack and where. Bigger dangers are slipped belts and tread seperation. As Andrew NZ stated, a picture would be most informative.
