Hey All!

Thought I would share with everyone that I am finally home from my deployment!!

I have been home for a little over a week but have been super busy with everyone and getting things in order.

The porsche is getting pulled out of storage tomorrow and getting underway with all the work it needs. The goal is to have it running and driving by the end of the week.. but thats if i do not run into any issues.

Of course.. Im sure ill hit a snag somewhere and have to order more parts or something.

I will try to include plenty of pictures as i tear it down and put it back together.... yes a little automotive porn will be coming your way LOL

I have started tearing into the car to replace the head and FOES job as well.

The FOES are to be delivered tomorrow, and the head I hope to have off and on today.

I have hit a few snags as i thought... the tensioners one running to the AC compressor and the other to the Power steering pump are broken, they were wedged in place to keep it working.
Also the Main Breather tube going from the Air flow sensor to throttle body is really cracked and broken.

Anyone know where i can get these to replace?

Also anything you guys think i should do while i am in here let me know... Ill post pics here soon

Hey I uploaded some pictures and what not... if you pay attention, you will notice one of the exhaust flanges is not right in the picture....

It broke off at the flange and will need to be welded back on.... hope I can get it done tomorrow so I can get the puppy back on the road.

So many delays......

No you don't want to do that. I would put you in a juiced up turbo and then you would be wanting one. They are way more of a headache to work on than what you have currently.

If it's not it too, and if you have the tubular exhaust manifolds (as opposed to the cast manifolds), I'd recommen spending the money for a set of the cast iron exhaust manifolds. They're heavier, but they don't crack like the tubular pipes do.

I took the manifold to a exhaust shop and they were able to reweld it.

It was Cast already from what they said. It broke right were the flange and the pipe come together.

They were able to put it back together and then did a weld on the outside of the flange and it works well.

I have more pics to post.

The car is actually back together and ran well...

Unfortunatly its parked right now until the new intake boot shows up and is put on. Right now it will not stay running because of it... the boot ripped in half and needed to be replaced.

Ill try to update the link earlier and upload more pics. The next project is to check the entire cooling fan system... i am suspecting that i have issues there since one fan has yet to kick on since i have owned the car.....

Then on to the body and maybe get some interior done.. but ill be hitting a stopping point soon since the budget i have right now is limited (wedding and school and more will be taking priority over it)
