I threw a rebuild kit into my master cylinder. It's a '78, so it's got the small bore, with no step.
When bench bleeding, the spring in the front chamber (the one that feeds the left front and right rear) does not return the piston. The rear chamber (right front and left rear) will extend under spring pressure. In order to fill the front chamber, I have to pull the plunger on the master cylinder out by hand.
If I install it like this, will this cause my left front and right rear to drag? Is this something that will work itself out once some pressure is built in the master cylinder?
I'm not sure what to do if it is a problem. The only way I can think to remove that piston would be with air, but I don't really know how to plug all the holes in the master cylinder, and even if I do remove the front piston, I'm not sure what to do with it.
What say you? _________________ 78 924 NA
