It seems that since my 924 would be running as a classic in the classic car class of VGP and MGP, im not allowed to modify my ignition system to any of the latter modern types. Restrictions state that the system has to be offered by the manufacturer or in period. Therefore since I have installed in the car the common non electronic system distributor system I was wondering of changing this to the latter electronic systems found on latter models of the 924. This system is as far as I know factory issue.

My question is , it this a direct swap? what would I need as parts and what would I need to do to alter the common system to the latter electronic system which simply has to be in period.

I might be wrong but I think that the latter electronic ignition system is better than the common type system.

I would believe you would need a ROW distributor with hall sensor and TIU for controlling the spark from the coil and associated wiring.
You would be best to get them from the ROW like the UK as the setup is slightly different for the USA.

Do you have a points dissy? They were on very early models.

Yes my dizzy is with points although the car is a 79 model which I find strange. I have access to a set up which is still installed in a 1981 model. I have to be sure what is needed before I start dismantling.
