Hi all.. just pulled the box on my 81 s2 931/924 turbo to do shift coupling!
What sort of gearbox oil recommendations can you give me... 90k miles on the clock...
Does anyone use or recommend additives,, Nulon/slick etc?
thanks

Ps... bought it with a sloppy shift so I hope the syncros are ok!

Redline MT90 still good for a g31 with lsd?

do I need a lsd additive of any sort or special oil for it? or is that just nonsense?

Given the OP's opening line, I think he should have the Audi box. I use MT90 in my '82 931.

I don't think MT90 works with limited slip but I don't remember for sure. You should sure check their website first.[/quote]

Redline, Mobil-1, RoyalPurple. Must be GL4. Should be 75W90.

The OP has a ROW 931. All ROW 931 got the G31.

Pardon me, I'm just a silly American and did not realize that.

MT-90 (75W90 GL-4 Gear Oil) should fit the bill then. Check the specs HERE.

Interesting about that booklet. I have it and I've read it, but never picked up that it says GL5. I've always read and had it in my head that GL4 was recommended. I can't check my FSM or owner's manuals, I wonder what they say?

I Think the owners manual states GL5 for the G31. But I cant access it right now. Obviously there are arguments against it, but I dont think Porsche would specify GL5 if it was wrong in any way.
