Hello every one, I went trough cleqning and replacing all the o rings of my fuel distributor. Nevertheless, i found thet one of the little filters that go below the banjo bolt of every line of the injectors is missing.
Are they needed, can I live with taking all of them out???
Does some one has one or a set I can buy or nows a place I can get a replacement?? (the lillte filter)
Thnaks a lot
I look forward to your feedback
Regards

Hey Eduardo!!
Welcome!
I do not believe that you need them, however.....
I would make very sure that you have a brand new fuel filter installed prior to pressurizing the fuel system, and I would ensure that you are running top grade fuel.
The little screens are the final step to keep small particles from getting into the fuel distributor. Seeing that you have already taken the distributor apart (good for you, I could not get mine to seal back up and had to buy another one) you have seen all the tiny fuel passage channels in the thin metal plate between the two halves. Wouldn't take much to clog them.
If you are willing to take the chance, then you should be just fine.
Cheers,

I think he's talking about the screens at the upstream ends of the injector lines, which stop particles getting to the injectors, not the fuel distributor.
My guess is that they're nice to have, but that the preceding filters would generally stop most particles before they reached that point. _________________ "Priscilla" 1981 924 NA RoW auto, metallic blue |
