My parts supplier couldn't list a specific 924 rear brake shoe. Does anyone know the in-common VW / Audi model parts? Golf (or Rabbit) as you guys the other side of the pond know it?
Car is a 1982 924 na (basic drum)
cheers folks |

It is simple in the UK:
gsfcarparts.com or eurocarparts.co.uk (I think) free delivery and v.reasonable prices.
Also if you join the uk Porsche 924 owners club for £15 you get a discount too...
Personally I haev used both companies and they are very helpful and quick! _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...

It was GSF I contacted - I agree very helpfull - but they suggested bring in the old shoe and they would see if they could match it up with the VW equivelant - just wondered if I could short circuit by identifying the common model. |

May also be the same as a VW Type 181.
Or a VW MKII or MKIII Jetta or Golf with 200mm drums. |

I just ordered off the website, no hassle at all, they don't need to match them as they already have... They are only about £12 anyway. _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...

bit late i know, but a few people might read this and be interested. i had to replace the rear brakes and wheel bearings (on a budget as ever) and found the whole of the rear suspension and brakes to be 1967-on independant rear suspension (IRS) beetle, incidently the front discs and upights (incuding bearings were beetle too! this is really handy as there are many beetle specialists about. bits are cheap too! makes me wonder if the beetle redesign has anything to do with the start of this project (924) which would be a response to ford and the escort/capri which started in '66 with the escort if i remeber correctly. would love to find the designers and ask. _________________ I KNEW white wall tyres were invented by Americans .....just not at Boeing.... to be fitted on the 737..... |
