Looking at '88 924S/SE with 45k miles. Looks to be a very clean car with only 3 owners. Been around Porsches my whole life... last one owned '93 928 GTS 5 speed so very familiar with Porsches as a whole and their ownership requirements. In general, what would be a good price to pay for such a car? Looking for general range.
Thanks! |

If it is a true SE (confirmed by VIN) with the matching grey & dark red pin-striped interior, sunroof delete, correct (unmodified / unmolested) suspension, single driver side mirror; and if the front of engine service was recently performed and documented;
In otherwise excellent condition, I'd say probably $6000-$8000 as a ceiling. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Me'n a buddy have been discussing these cars lately. The general consensus seems to be that these are THE 924's to have. As good as they get. If it's decent I'd snap it up for anything under six grand. Over that it starts to get a little tough to decide, at least for me, because there are arguably "better" Porsches you can buy when the dollars start creeping up around seven or eight grand...
But that's a rare bird. If you're a toofah nut, it'd be hard to pass at any price! _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

| Thanks everyone for your input. It really helped me make a decision whether to buy or not. Joejax, that's the car and I am now the new owner of a '88 924S/SE/Club Sport. Would someone please confirm if it is a SE or Club Sport or what? Thanks! |

Did you buy that car here in Jax?
Edit:Sorry, I was a little confused. That sure is a nice one I had seen it around town but never saw a 4 sale sign, was not in my car, so never approached it.
Only 45K miles? Wow. Congrats and welcome to the board. _________________ I got nothin'

It's an "SE", as in "Special Edition". There never was an "official" 924 Club Sport.
I'm curious about the mirrors...every SE I've ever seen only has the one driver side mirror, that one has both. But the interior appears to be the SE stuff.
Anyway, congrats on a good acquisition, it looks like a very nice example from the CL ad. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

Congratulations on the purchase!

Yep, someone just wrote Club sport on Wikipedia, but there was never such a thing.
The US only SE were built to commemorate the 250,000th 911 being sold. _________________ '84 944 -White, Brown interior

Yes it is without a doubt. The vin puts it within the first two hundred. _________________ 87 924s

Bworrell15, there is one thing about this car I have to see if you could be so kind as to post some pics. The seats appear to be solid burgundy from the Craigslist pic. If this is the case and it it original it is very rare. _________________ 87 924s
