Between the windshield and the hood. I believe some call it a windage tray? Did Porsche put one of those on this car, and if so where can I get one?

Nope.
But it looks like you need a battery hold-down clamp... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Indeed I do. Thanks for telling me I am not crazy, the non existence of some sort of "tray"/cover there has been killing me _________________ 1979 924

The only thing that could be happening between it is a 924S / 944 Safetyplat (Anti-Theft) #944 511 201
Measurements are 20 cm x 5,5 cm …so we wouldn't see your battery

later 944s and 968s had a plastic piece that went under the windshield, to hide the battery and such. I don't know what it's called or the part number, though, and I don't think it's the part Harm mentioned, either. _________________ proud owner of a 1979 924 Sebring Edition with a 931 trans that looks horrible but somehow runs... |

I wish there was a piece to go there. It bugs me that there isn't. _________________ [This Space For Rent] |

I'm pretty sure I've seen it on the later 944 and 968's had athing that went there looking at the PET I think the part number is 944 504 533 02 and it's called a "cover" _________________ Remember a Porsche is not just for Christmas,

I'm relatively certain the one for the 968 will not fit the 924, but there was a similar piece for 85.5 and later 944s called the "fresh air well cover"
I haven't seen this in person, so I don't know if it's performs the same function as the "cover" _________________ proud owner of a 1979 924 Sebring Edition with a 931 trans that looks horrible but somehow runs... |
