I've got a bunch of choices to use for my exhaust manifold to downpipe joint, but none are the optimal choice (copper plated steel).

Which should I use? Let's get out the vote!

Options 1, 2, and 4 will all rust within months of exposure to wet northern climate. Not sure about the brass.

Why wouldn't you just get copper lock nuts?

Regarding nuts and pin screws. I bought mines from nearest VAG dealer. I just called them and told them what dimensions I needed and how many and that they must be high temp spec. They were very cheap and are working absolutely great so far. All nuts were copper lock nuts.

I haven't been able to source them locally, and I'm putting it together today.
