|
|
Now that she's running very well, and by the way, I want to thank everone who have given tips and direction through this long learning process, I now have an electrical problem.
Headlights, is there a common connector for both headlights? I was ready to take her out for her first road experience this evening and turned on the head lights and only had the left. So I took the right out to replace it and didn't have any power to the plug. So I took the left one out since it worked, and cleaned the bezel. and check power to the left and had power. I installed the right side and tried to turn them on while it was running.
Now I have the right side working and NO left. No power to the left. All I got done was to switch sides without a working headlight. I suspect a connector someplace that has a bad connection.
The small four lead connector on the right side that is right behind the headlight seems to have some corrosion, but doesn't look like it can be broken down for cleaning.
Where would my best starting point be?
Thanks again. |

The headlight circuits are fused independently, have you checked the fuse panel?
Also, what year is your car? The early models had a relay on the fuse block, the later cars do not. Need to know what year your car is to provide other helpful tips. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

It's a 78, the number 7 fuse was blown at some point. That was the only one the looked blown. I didn't pull the and check continuity. They looked solid.
With the relay, one relay for both lights, correct? Is the high beam on a different line from the low beams?
When I replaced number 7 fuse, is when the right side light came on. Then no left side. All other lights work correctly. Both front turn signal bulbs had the direction signal filaments blown. I suspect that they have been that way for a long time. |

Left and right lights come off the fuse block on different connectors too. Perhaps you've got some poor contacts there as well; it's a common problem with these cars. _________________ 78 924 NA
