|
|
Hi All:
Much thanks in advance for all the help everyone provides. It is always appreciated.
I was changing hoses on my 1980 N/A and i broke off this connector that was coming from the EEC Control Valve to a reducer that seemed to be connected to a hard plastic hose . I have posted two pics. Wondering where this hose leads to and can I just remove the broken off connector or do I have to change the entire hard plastic wire. It doesn't
Please see pics below.
Any thoughts on where this smaller hose leads to and where I can purchase this reducer connector (large hose to smaller hose)
Thoughts ?? _________________ Manny-

| Smaller hose is the line from the expansion chamber of the fuel tank. I didn't see the connector in the PET manual. |

Thank you larchie. Yes I didn't see it in PET either.
Since the adapter/reducer broke off and it is connected to the expansion chamber line I wonder if I would replace the whole line. It doesn't seem like a new adapter would slide in.
Any other thoughts of what can be done ? _________________ Manny-

I probably would just hack two fitted pieces of tygon or other tubing 'staircased" to make the juncture.
But if no one else has more "Porsche-worthy" suggestions then if you have an Earl's Performance Plumbing nearby or choose to access online at AN Plumbing, their support staff can most likely find a fitting if you have the ID and OD measurements of the lines you are connecting. IMHO their prices are reasonable, and I've almost always had success in adapting lines, tubing, and fittings which are NLA from parts suppliers. |

I would just hit the local auto parts store and look in their vacuum fitting section for one that is a similar size. Remember you can replace the hard plastic line with rubber hose in a similar size if you need to. _________________ Stefan
