I am rebuilding the master cylinder on a 1978 924 because we keep getting air into the brake lines. I am following the steps in the Haynes manual and have removed the retainer ring and and retaining bolt. Cannot get the piston to pull out. Am I missing something on pulling the piston out of the body? |

The first washer after the retaining ring will be stuck in the retainer rings groove. Pull harder! _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

| I guess it does not matter if I damage the "piston rod" because it is being replaced. Correct? |

never mind. I put the "piston rod" in a vise and pulled harder. and it popped out.
Thanks. |
