Hello everyone I am new to the forum and to the Porsche world. I recently received a 78 924 from my buddy who had given up hope on this car. It is a beautiful car just had a laser straight factory green paint job, 54k miles and the car was orignally from texas so no rust have and have many many new parts new wheels suspension ect. that he gave me with the car. Have all the orignal paperwork and I am the 4th owner Any way I received the car non-running he had a mechanic replace fuel filters and accumulators but no luck on firing. I went through the distributor replaced point and the car runs. The car runs great up until about 3k RPM then just wants to stumble and not accelerate any more. I was wondering if anyone had a vacuum diagram for this car. Sorry for my lack of terminology (like I said I am new at this whole Porsche thing) the "thing" on the passenger side near the firewall which looks like it regulates vacuum has a giant green line going into it then 3 or 4 ( I can't remember without looking at it) smaller vacuum lines going all over on the motor. Some of these could be hooked up incorrectly and I have one that is not hooked up at all nor do I see the spot it is supposed to go. Also when I am out of the car and I give the car throttle and slowly open the plunger type deal that is in the on the other side of the air box the I can get the car to rev up no problem. Am I experiencing a vacuum problem that is not allowing this plunger to be pulled up all the way when I am getting into the higher RPM's? This plunger does not appear to be stuck and seems to move fairly free? Any advise would help and again sorry for the poor terminology and descriptions on parts of the car I do not know but I hope to get this on the road soon. Thanks for the help.

I recommend starting with a proper CIS test so you know whether the warm-up regulator (WUR) and the rest of the fuel system is functioning correctly.
And work on your ¶unctuation...it's hard to read such a big blob of text without ¶aragraphs _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |
