I have an '88 924s with a 3-speed automatic. It seems to drop RPMs between 2500rmp-3500rpm. It doesn't happen everytime, but it does happen frequently. When this does happen the car drops about 500rpm, and the needle just sits there for a second or three, then the car jolts back up to the proper revs and carries on with business. I don't know if this is a fuel problem, trans problem, oil problem, or whatever it could be. Any suggestions on how to start diagnosing this problem would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. This has not happened in 1st gear.

Thanks!
