Its a Mercedes and while there are some pretty drastic differences, there are some similarities that could prove to be useful to some of the toofah folks that might look at performing this type of modification on their own:

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r-c107-sl-slc-class/1619392-280sl-k-jet-ignition-conversion-megasquirt.html

More than a few of us have done these conversions ourselves, some have had better results than others. Also, I think I can say that none of us with MegaSquirt are running exactly the same solutions to the same problems.

If you're a patient tinkerer that is comfortable with computers, electrical systems and understands the basics of engine tuning then MegaSquirt is a potentially good solution.

However, if you answered no to any of the above? Then stick with the CIS system, you'll be miles ahead since that is a well-documented solution. Unless someone comes up with a more or less, Plug-N-Play solution for converting to EFI on a 2.0L (there is a PnP solution for the 2.5L: http://www.diyautotune.com/diypnp/apps/b55/usdm-porsche-944s-8788-4cyl-mt.html)

That's pretty much spot-on to my system, albeit, I'm using EDIS ignition. I have a separate FP relay connected to a switch, instead of using the relay on the relay board. Probably not a good idea if one is in an accident, and is not conscience~! Setting AFR settings for idle or manipulating Req. Fuel, is the secret ingredient for Autotune to do it's magic.
