Well tonight i am finishing up my head swap, hooking up all the vacuum lines and fuel lines. I barely started to tighten the bolts that hold the fuel lines to the injectors and the bolt twisted in half. Seriously i had maybe 5 ft-lbs of torque on the bolt and it snapped. So i was really careful with the other ones, but managed to still break another one of the bolts. This is ridiculous, how is the fuel pressure supposed to be sealed in with bolts that can only be finger-tight before they break? I wasnt sure which torque specs to go by in my haynes manual, is it the fuel distributor line bolts? They are supposed to be torqued to 7 ft-lbs, and i swear i wasnt even that tight when they broke. But it seems that they should need more torque to hold fuel pressure.
I guess it's not a big deal, but i was almost done with the whole project, and of course i get another retarded set-back. ANyone happen to have a spare set of injector bolts? _________________ 1996 Honda del Sol Si Turbo

I think you can get brand new ones fairly cheap from the DMC in Texas. I had a freak out moment when I was looking for my own fuel line. I don't remember the link, and I am not even sure if it is the exact same company. I did call them once and the person I spoke to has the parts, but he was a little old man who would rather make online orders. I was looking for a 8mm banjo fitting, they had it. They where cheap too, like a few bucks. I eventually will by a kit to make my own lines and replace every fuel line.
Good luck. |
