I have a 1987 porsche 924s..i had an intake leak at an intake manifold gasket but it ran pretty nice considering the easily heard intake leak.i drove the 924 for 20 thousand some odd miles with a little mis. So i replace the intake manifold gaskets and now it cranks but will not start..i replaced the distributer cap.rotor button.plug wires plugs.ignition coil.fuel injectors.i am tired of replacing things and need to get it to start again.need to find the root.have spark.have fuel to the fuel rail.help!!! How do I test the air flow sensor.will not start with starting fluid.so i think i dont have any air?help?

If all vacuum lines are in place and no serious vacuum leak from the manifold (i.e., something like cylinder compression nearly nil), it sounds like a timing issue: e.g., re-check distributor proper rotation, wires to the cap proper order, finding TDC for #1 spark so forth. My guess is that the issue is most likely the way stuff was put back together -- something not properly connected..

924S, right? Are you sure you plugged in your AFM, your TPS, DME sensor? Also try swapping the plugs for the speed and reference sensors. They may be backwards. You're probably not in much trouble.

HTH.

Sorry, I should have gone into more detail. Anyway, the two connectors in the bracket at the back of the intake manifold are the plugs for speed and reference sensors. DG and BG I think they're marked. Check the colored tape on them (if it's still there). It's easy to mix them up. The sensors themselves live at the back of the engine on the bellhousing right beside the window for the TDC mak on the flywheel. Much has been written about these little bastards, so I won't reiterate. But if you had your manifold off to do the gaskets you may have disturbed them. BTW, those intake gaskets can be changed without pulling the manifold...

TPS lives right under the throttle body, although the car will run fine with it disconnected. Heck, in some cases run better!

Aftermarket speed/ref sensor is Facet 12141710668, FWIW. I can sell you a pair for $125 shipped.
