They are easy to fix. Remove the speedo and carefully remove the trim ring on the face of the speedo. Careful because you will put it back. Remove the back and on the side you will see the split gear. It will most likely not meshing with another gear. You can replace the gear or try to somehow glue it together. The gear is available for about 15 dollars. Yes, it is steep for what you are getting.

There seem to clown or two in here. My odometer isn't broken. I get just over 9L/100km, which my converter app tells me is about 26mpg using US gallons (or 31 using proper Imperial ones).

Wade.

Dont try and glue the broken gear back together because you will just have to go back in and replace it 6000km later, quess how I know.

Its an easy fix. The gear is easy to get to once you open the speedo up.

While you are in there swap the speedo and tach so the tach is in the middle. I was able to do this on two 924's without having to change any wiring.

meh,.. nm I'll just leave the odometer alone. I not need to move tach either it's fine where it is.

I really don't even use the MPH on my guage anyway. I use my GPS odometer. I got used to it when I had a truck with over size tires.

This. But back when it worked, my worst MPG between fill-ups was 21MPG, my best was 28MPG, and I normally got 25MPG.

My odo's busted as well, but I think I calculated that I'm getting about 26 mpg on a good day.

I moved mine. Took about 5 minutes with the steering wheel off. I like it since you can better see where in the rev range you are when driving spiritedly. The odo/speedo is actually fairly accurate, provided you're running stock diameter tires and the cable is in good shape.

I like having gauges that are easy to scan through when I'm driving, so keeping it simple and homogeneous is preferred, IMO.
