So I just got my parts in from Patrick Motorsport to rebuild a wastegate and while I was pulling all of my wastegate bits from storage (3 units torn down and sand blasted) I noticed that the spring from this latest wg is about 3/4" taller than the others (?).

Does anyone know if this is the 1 bar spring ?

Thanks, Leigh

Sorry, I have to ask ... at the risk of exposing my ignorance, what the heck in a "wastegate"? I've been all over my 924 but it must have been hiding somewhere. Perhaps this is a Canadian term ... maybe like boot or dizzy?

Turbo only item, so if you don't have a 924 with a Turbo, then you won't have one.

It might be that you could find my posts about the spring...i replaced the WG spring in my 924 a few years ago and the 1bar spring is a bit taller and has thicker wire IIRC. However in my case it did not produce 1 bar just 0.9 but this might be due to elevation or other causes.

The one bar spring I had was actually shorter than the stock piece.

It might be that i received the wrong spring if yours actually made 1bar.
When i called back the seller he said that the spring made 1bar on the 911...so maybe the 924 1bar spring is different from the 911 1bar spring.
