ok...so here is the place for the ones who need to shout about the way their girlfriends/wifes drive.

i'll go first:

My girfriend recently got her driver's licence...so now i can drive to a party or whatever place...have a few beers and then she can drive me home. Sounds ideal...doesnt it?
Well i was expecting her to be a little slow and disorientated but i NEVER expected her to shift into reverse without pressing the clutch pedal!!!.....OH MY GOD !!! luckly i didnt take the porsche out tonight..
She was trying to get out of a parking slot and aparently forgot about the clutch pedal, crunched the reverse gear and did not stop at the first grind but went all the way trough and killed the engine

No dude...whats wrong with you? she is 22.

Fortunately the gearbox in the audi is a tough one and shows no sign of damage after the abuse last night
So lets hear your stories...i'm sure you have some too

I was driving with a "Miss world" contestant i was seeing(2006) to an acting job we had on the gold coast...one hour away.... all she could talk about was how crap my little suzuki was and how she had a Range rover back home.
blah blahhh blahhhhh....her head was getting so big ...so i screached on the brakes in the middle of a 110km/hr highway..stopped all the traffic and told her to get out and walk!!
She shut up the rest of the way there

once when I was sitting next to my wife driving she started to get really mad with the people who had just walked out infront of her to cross the road and that she had to brake and change lanes just to avoid them. I pointed out that if she hadnt just driven through a red pedestrian light she wouldnt have had any problems with the people crossing the road and making her change lanes.

And I assume she also shut her legs for at least a month longer?

My girlfriend drives quite good, but she drives too safe and careful... don't like that but better than not seeing things.

Some friends once let their girlfriends drive their car (rwd) and it has happened a few times that they crashed the car completely...

So I'll never let my girl drive the porsche

My wife is learning how to drive a manual now (has driven automatics all her life). We went for some practice driving around the neighborhood and she had a rough time giving the car enough gas. Eventually the car jerked around so much that the check engine light came on. I think the car was saying it was tired and wanted to rest because a couple of days later the light was off. We're still working on the practice...

Edit: That was on our Suzuki Reno, by the way, not the Porsche.

This may work (has for me):

Find a flat large parking lot.

Put the car in first.

Show her where the friction point is.

Show her that you can move the pedal quickly to a point somewhere just short of the friction point.

Without touching the gas pedal, ease the clutch pedal out until the car is moving and your foot is off the clutch pedal.

Then push the gas pedal.

Most new drivers don't understand that the clutch pedal is not an "on/off" switch and don't understand what a friction point is.

Once you've proved to her that the car can be started from a stop without touching the gas pedal several times, have her try it.

My girlfriend doesn't know how to drive stick (she keeps begging me to teach her..I will on the audi, not the porsche). That and whenever we take her car I normally drive too.

My wife is a better driver than me. I taught her how to drive in the porsche.
