Hello everyone just wanted to introduce myself and my new project.
Today I picked up my new toy a 1982 Porsche 924 Turbo and Fibreglass Carrera GT bodykit in red.

Plans are to get in on the roads. Needs clutch and a few small items.

Welcome to the Board!

Glad to see someone saved that car. Was it Australian delivered?

Car looks good !
body kit looks high quality, do you plan to install it or sell and use the cash to restore the car?

Peterld. Yes from what I can tell it's Australian delivered.

Yes the cgt kit is of high quality. A little repair work needed. My plan is to fit the kit and upgrade it to a Cgt replica.

Is it an Australian thing that it has what look like a US spec bumper with fog lights and euro bumperettes ? Rear bumper looks US too. Never seen one like this?????

Not Sure on either yet.

the speedo say 61,000 but I am going through all the receipts. I have found a $10K+ one for full rebuild in 2003 before it was parked due to suspect gearbox issue.

It was parked because of a believed gearbox issue but Porsche apart diagnosed it a clutch and included one in the sale.

Will pull the box out a see!

Moulds were made from a US spec car, prefer the Aus spec rubber ones or not at all...

I was curious about the original bumpers. But come to think of it the CGT bumpers are pretty funky with those unusual bumperettes as well.

Dave's a very experienced mechanic if that was him that made the call...
mind you most G31's of that age are requiring a little TLC... 10yrs ago eh...
a strip down of 1st through 3rd is fairly easy (7.5 out of 10) IIRC I think the only special tool I needed was a 36mm socket for the front retaining nut...
Somewhere on this board there's a post where I listed a replacement dog gear from another model Porsche, you could check with Albins in Melbourne if they've got around to doing a run of these yet... syncros can also be upgraded too.

As far as I know all Australian 924's have the 'euro' bumpers.

I saw the ad for Scott's car a few weeks ago & wondered why a RHD 924 had the US bumpers on it.

Looks like they are getting replaced with the CGT kit, should look great when finished.

Hahaha I looked at the blue 78 in the background of the first pic. Pretty tired ... but might still go there.
