hi all I have recently bought an 83 2.0na
first is I cant seem to get the idle below 1100 also what is the adjustment knob in the drivers footwell for please

Check for vacuum leaks, throttle plate screw adjustment & bad seals and throttle cable adjustment. Pic of knob?
