|
|
So my oil filter mount/housing is loose, this is apperently where my oil leak is comming from. Im refering to the big bolt that holds it to the block.
However the to bolts holding the oil cooler lines are kind of in the way.
can anyone tell me if its possible to tighten this bolt with out removing the oil cooler lines??
and what size is it? _________________ It was either this or a giant box of legos |

I use a box-end 15/16ths (I think that's the size) wrench, that looks like this.

yep 24mm spanner, a flex head or ring/open ended
could be the crush washer on the banjo bolt or rubber seal on the block face contact area...

Retorquing any of the banjos on the oil console will gall the crush rings and worsen the leak. Better to reseal the whole enchilada. _________________ Toofah King Bad

Rasta also gave me a good tip that has worked well...use some blue loctite on fresh crush washers. I have never been able to get the oil lines to completely seal without using loctite, regardless of using factory-spec torque. The loctite trick works pretty well. I also use it on the air-oil-separator return line (banjo fitting just above the sump drain plug). _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

can the crush washers be had locally? and what is the torque spec?
and what are the crush washer dimensions?
I might just remove the oil lines just so I dont have to buy another tool that im going to use once.
will I lose alot of oil? _________________ It was either this or a giant box of legos |

This should get you started.
Amazon should have them all. here's one below.

It will be messy. Don't over torque anything, ask me how I know. _________________ 1982 931- Stock with MBC at 8psi
