I have found a 1977 Porsche 924 N/A with an LSD. Is it possible to fit this in my 931?

Are there and difference or things I should look for ask owner?

No, you have a 25mm driveline, you want to go for either a g31 with lsd (very rare) or source a 944turbo box. A 944 box will work but is not as strong as the turbo box,

The diff might swap over, but you'll likely want to refresh the box and diff since you'll need to set the lash, etc.

The diff will not swap over, they are completely different.

G31 also accepts 915 and 930 diff, but 915 diff has to be fine spline unit (meaning 1976 or later iirc). Coarse spline diff would fit if modified but that is too much for most.

But I would surely be interested in the 924NA diff.

Crap, sorry I forgot that the ROW 931 had the dogleg 915-based box. Too used to the US.

So, never mind. Carry on

Only the 79-80 US cars have the G31. 81-82 US cars have the AUDI 016 so the diff might swap. The 77 has a 4 spd and has a designation of 088 so i am not sure that they will swap. Your list shows 82 931 so you have the AUDI unit unless someone replaced everything with the G31.

Thanks for all the advice. Yes my car is a Australia Delivery 02/1982 build with the dogleg 5 speed gearbox.

What's the best way to check which gearbox/diff I have?

Build tag in the trunk and there should be a code stamped on the transaxle case

I didn't notice where you were from.

Here is where the G31 S/N is:

4spd diff is interchangeable with Audi 016 5spd diff, btdt.
