Hi all,
I need some help finding someone that still sells the PIERBURG Fuel Pump 7.21659.70.0 aka 98154.

The 98156 is available from AutohuasAZ, while functionally identical in output the inlet nipple is larger than the 98154 a 15mm vs a 12mm (guessing that's what the 12 and 15 stand or in data sheet) according to Pierburg data sheet.

http://download.ms-motor-service.com/ximages/pg_pi_0034_en_web.pdf

I'd appreciate it I anyone has a source.

If they are now nla, is there a new preferred pump?
I found a good price on the walbro pump, but it only puts out 5 bar,
that seems like it's low thought pressure should be around 6bar.

Thanks, Ron

I think the Walbro puts out more than that...I seem to recall a higher flow rate than Pierburg.

Good deal here: http://m.eeuroparts.com/Parts/43319/Fuel-Pump-Kit-GCL604/

I saw that one as well rasta, but when I did some research on that pump these are the specs I found.

The Walbro GCL604 OE Replacement Fuel Pump Kit. This kit is rated to operate at 12 volts and has a minimum flow of 211 liters per hour against a normal operating pressure of 73 psi. This fuel pump is typically located In-Line.

73 psi is just over 5 bar. Will it work with our cis system, I was under the impression we want 6 bar?

Ron

After finally finding a Bosch fuel pump data table it lists the specs for our cars fuel pump at 165 lph at 5 bar, so the walbro pump has a little higher flow rate at the same bar.

That being said is it as good as the 98154 pump?
I also found a source for the 98154 at $182 vs $90 for the walbro,
is it that much better?

I'll give you a good deal on a used Pierburg as soon as my Walbro is installed.

The 604 is for a 1980, mine is a 79 and it says 608, is your car perhaps a 1980?
