|
|
I just had a new fuel accumulator installed. (Surprisingly there was none installed previously). The problem is, that when I start the engine, I hear and feel clicking (quite strong) caused by the accumulator. The same clicking is present when I stop the engine. Has anyone experineced this kind of problem? I realise, the clicking is from a dpring inside the accumulator, but I don't think it should occure.
Also does it matter, where exactly is the accumulator located? A shop installed the accumulator in the area where fuel filter used to be and vice versa – would it make any difference?
Thanks for any advice! |

It should be located back by the fuel tank. I would put it back where it belongs. My guess is that it is susceptible to pulses in the system being in the middle of the line, it is suppose to smooth those pulses out.
Even if it functions correctly in that location, I would move it back to the rear. They are prone to leakage when the diaphragm goes bad & under the hood is a bad place for that to occur. |
