I have new problem with my 924.
The car was almost perfect and I did not make any changes, but engine since yesterday run bad.
When I start engine I see a white smoke, first I suspect head gasket, but water level is not changed.
I hear continuous bursts from the exhaust and maximum speed is 160 km/h.
I recently had this problem only once, I thought the problem was the leakage current, then I have shield battery, but the problem has come back.
All parts out of engine are new or restored.
Do you have suggestions? |

remove your spark plugs and check them...
if wet = head/block cracked or head gasket failure
if black = fuel too rich
if white = too lean
take and post pictures of results...

| An easy quick check for a blown head gasket where the leak is between the cylinder and coolant passage is to: with the engine cold, run it for approximately 30 seconds & shut it off. Open the coolant tank cap & listen for pressure to escape. |

If you have oil in the water it is 99.99% blown head gasket or cracked head. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

It is 99.99% not the block (these are strong) but head or head gasket.
But there is no way to determine it before pulling the head. And you need to pull it anyway to fix it. It is a one hour job if you know what you are doing. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp
