Did a belt service on Shaggy last night, and wanted to give some feedback on the Continental timing belt kit. The punch line: I loved it. It was only $18, and included a very nice tensioner (I've had trouble with noisy/crappy tensioners in the past).
Two thumbs up!

where did you buy it from?
also, does it require a changing of the tensioner bolt to a shorter or longer one? |

Got it from WorldPac, but fcpeuro seems to have a good price on it. Tensioner is same design, just better made.
As for the bolt, it should be replaced if original anyway! _________________ Toofah King Bad

First positive of a Conti kit I've seen. I had a poor experience of one recently. The belt was correct in tooth number but was 1/2 tooth longer than the one I took off and the OEM Dayco I replaced it with. I stick with Dayco from Porsche now.
Some UK guys generally appear to approve the Gates kit. _________________ 1980 931 - forged pistons, Piper cam, K27/26 3257 6.10 hybrid turbo, 951 FMIC, custom intake, Mittelmotor dizzy & cam pulley, H&S exhaust, GAZ Gold, Fuch'ed, Quaife

| I see a couple of ebay sellers just selling the dayco tensioner with a new stud and nut. it was my understanding the you had change the stud with a shorter or longer one (don't remember) with the new style tensioner. |
